Book of the month: Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson
The High Society Book club is a private membership community in the US dedicated to promoting overall well-being and community health. Founded in partnership with Brwnbox and Encountering Grace wellness communities, our book club is a key feature aimed at fostering analog practices like reading and creative expression. We focus on elevating discussions surrounding life, literature, and wellness, with a special emphasis on amplifying the voices of marginalized authors. Through virtual round-tables, in-person meetings, and community events, we inspire connection and well-being. As a membership house dedicated to wellness, we read books by authors from marginalized groups and explore diverse subjects, striving to be well-rounded readers and individuals.
Our book club serves as an extension of our commitment to wellness, connecting BIPOC individuals while exploring literature by authors from marginalized backgrounds. We delve into various genres, including works by native American, black, LGBTQI, female, and Asian authors, alongside literature on finance, psychology, fiction, and thought leadership. Our goal is to deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world. If you're inspired by our mission, we invite you to review our bylaws and consider joining our community.
